Applying for a teaching position

Individuals interested in applying for a teaching position should return the following completed documents:

  • Letter of Interest
  • Resume
  • Credentials File (or 3 written references, if you do not have credentials or a placement file)
  • Photocopies of your undergraduate and graduate transcripts
  • A photocopy of your NY State Teaching Certification

Applying for a substitute teaching position

The Vestal Central School District accepts applications from uncertified and certified individuals. However, regulations place certain limitations on the employment of uncertified substitute teachers.

Please note that applicants who are not certified, may be legally employed on an itinerant basis for not more than 90 days in any one school year (8 NYCRR Section 80.54 (c) (3). Those uncertified individuals who have a Bachelor’s degree; are attending college to become eligible for certification; and are completing their college study at the rate of at least six semester hours annually, may be employed without limitation on the number of days they substitute teach (8 NYCRR Section 80.54 (c) (2).

Individuals interested in applying for a substitute teaching position should return the following completed documents:

  • Letter of Interest
  • Resumé
  • Credentials File (or 3 written references if you do not have a credentials or placement file)
  • Photocopies of your Transcripts
  • Photocopy of your NY State Teaching Certification

Applications are reviewed by administrators on an as needed basis. Administrators have the discretion and responsibility for scheduling interviews. If you have any questions, please contact the Personnel Office at 607-757-2317. Thank you for your interest in the Vestal Central School District.

Applying for a support position

Individuals interested in applying for a support position should return the following completed documents:

  • Three (3) written letters of reference and a cover letter of interest are also required to complete your application.
Please print or type both applications and return them to the attention of the Personnel Office, 201 Main Street, Vestal, New York, 13850.
Applications are reviewed by administrators and supervisors, who have the responsibility and discretion to schedule interviews. Administrative staff then forward their recommendations to the Personnel Office.
Applying for a substitute support position

Individuals interested in applying for a substitute support position should return the following completed documents:

  • Three (3) written letters of reference and a cover letter of interest are also required to complete your application.

Please print or type both applications and return them to the attention of the Personnel Office, 201 Main Street, Vestal, New York, 13850.

Administrators and supervisors have the responsibility and discretion to schedule interviews. Applicants who show promise of meeting District needs will be contacted by the supervisors listed below. Administrative staff forward their recommendations to the Personnel Office.
