Sarah Kasson accepts a scholarship to play lacrosse at Queens College

Sarah Kasson, daughter of Clifford and Deborah Kasson of Vestal, was crowned a Queens Knight when she signed her letter of intent to play lacrosse with Division II Queens College, part of the City University of New York system. The signing took place at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, May 30, in the lobby of the Vestal High School.

“We’re really proud of her,” said Coach Williams. “She’s a really hard worker, and she’s fulfilled her dream of playing lacrosse while also pursuing her career aspirations.”

An all-around athlete, Sarah has spent two years on the varsity lacrosse, cross-country and indoor track teams, as well as playing modified and J.V. soccer. She currently plays an attack position for the team she helped achieve regional championships, sectional championships and New York State quarter finalists for the past two years.

Academically, the National Honor Society member has spent six semesters on the Honor Roll and will be a candidate for Vestal’s Scholar Certificate at graduation. Sarah will major in Media Studies/Marketing at Queens College in the Fall, and she brings with her 15 college credits completed.
