Alani Shepard-Gallagher signs with St. Leo Lions

Lady Golden Bear athlete, Alani Shepard-Gallagher, daughter of Chandra Gallagher and Reggie Hawkins of Vestal, will keep the green and gold in college as she signed her letter of intent to play basketball with the St. Leo Lions on April 27, in the lobby of the Vestal High School. St. Leo University is a Division II school located in St. Leo, Florida.

Shepard-Gallagher is a three-year member of the Lady Golden Bears’ varsity basketball team who finished her career with 256 blocked shots, which is a first on record for Vestal High School. She is a three-time STAC All-Star (2015, 2016 and 2017), Metro Division All-Star (2015), All Conference (2016 and 2017). A Basketball Coaches Association of New York Class A Player of the Year, Shepard-Gallagher is under consideration for New York’s BCANY Top 50 in Class A. She is also a three-time Section IV, Class A Champion and two-time NYS Regional Finalist.

At St. Leo University, Shepard-Gallagher plans to major in Sports Business.
