Mya Muse, daughter of Crystal and Tyrone Muse of Vestal, will be joining the NU Huskies’ Track & Field team in the fall. She signed her letter of intent accepting a track and field scholarship from Division I Northeastern University on January 18 in the lobby of the Vestal High School, surrounded by family and friends.
A four-year member of the Vestal Golden Bears’ Track & Field Team, Mya participated in the Indoor Track 2016 New York State meet and earned First-team honors in the All-Class weight throw as well as making the Second Team in the All-Class shot put. She also set a new school record for Indoor Track for a weight throw of 50 feet, 10 inches. A Scholar Athlete in Track & Field (Spring 2015) and Indoor Track (Winter 2014 & 2015), outside of school she runs with the Triple Cities Youth Track Club.
When she matriculates at Northeastern in the fall, Mya will be studying the Health Sciences
