Contingent upon the receipt of grant funding from New York State, Vestal Central School District plans to continue its Universal Pre-Kindergarten program for the 2018-19 school year. Applications are being accepted now for eligible children. The half-day pre-kindergarten program is free to residents of the Vestal Central School District, and children who turn four years old by December 1, 2018, are eligible. Transportation is not provided.
Please complete and return the application attached below by March 2, 2018.
Sites for the 2018-19 Universal Pre-Kindergarten program are still being determined. Applicants will be notified of site options. The number of seats available in the program is determined by funding from New York State. In the event that the number of applications exceeds the program openings, the district will conduct a required lottery to select students randomly. Students not selected will be placed on a waiting list, and parents will be notified as openings become available.
Morning or afternoon class times are available at the two sites. When the site review process and lottery is complete, you will be contacted regarding your preference for class time and site location. Applicants who are not selected for their first choice will be given the option of choosing another site or being placed on a waiting list for their first choice.
