2017 Vestal Hall of Fame Dinner

The Vestal Hall of Fame Committee is pleased to announce the following candidates for induction into the 2017 Vestal Hall of Fame. They will be honored at the induction dinner/ceremony on Wednesday, May 3, 2017. Social hour begins at 5 p.m., with dinner served at 6 p.m. The Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will immediately follow dinner.

Mrs. Rachel Laquidara-Kolvek - Class of 1989

To paraphrase a letter of recommendation received with her nomination, Ms. Kolvek displays a sense of duty and patriotism for her country upholding the constitutional rights of all citizens and protecting the freedoms granted by such. As a Special Agent with the FBI, she has been recognized with the True American Hero Award and numerous other commendations. Her service to community includes supporting 9/11 remembrances, as well as breast cancer victims through The Healing Consciousness Foundation.

Mr. James O’Hora - Class of 1957

A true leader in every sense of the word, Mr. James O’Hora served as Chief Executive Officer for five non-profit organizations over the course of his 34-year career. His personal contributions to community include a multitude of board memberships and chairs, including for the Broome County Citizens Advisory Committee, the Broome County chapter of the American Red Cross, the Binghamton Zoo at Ross Park, the Mental Health Association and more. In his golden years, he supports the jewel of his heart, his alma mater, as president of the Vestal Central High School’s 50-plus Club.

Colonel Fredrick Plaumann, U.S. Air Force - Class of 1977

Current Deputy Director of Logistics, Civil Engineering and Force Protection at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Colonel Plaumann is about to look back at a 30-year career punctuated by an astonishing number of awards and recognitions. They include the Defense Superior Service Medal, the Legion of Merit, the Air Force Meritorious Service Medal with seven Oak Leaf Clusters, the Air Force Commendation Medal and the Air Force Achievement Medal, as well as the Daedalian Weapon System Maintenance Trophy.
