Get the Scoop on Vestal High School's musical "Newsies!"

Seize the day as Vestal High School student actors bring the plucky tale of the 1899 Newsboys
Strike to life with Disney’s “Newsies,” February 28 – March 3, 2019. Presented by special arrangement with Music Theatre International,* four uplifting performances are scheduled for 7 p.m. on February 28, March 1 and 2, with a matinée performance at 1 p.m. on Sunday, March 3.

Director Austin Kiley along with Assistant Director Laura Preston leads a cast of over 60 student performers and two-dozen crew. Conducting the orchestra is Maureen Kiley, Quinn Singer is choreographer and Josh Sedelmeyer is fight director.

A talented cast tells the historical story of the 1899 Newsboys’ Strike in New York City. Senior Robert Fischer is Newsie “Jack Kelly,” while the role of ambitious reporter “Katherine Plumber” is shared by Abigail Sprague and Tomiko Nicholson. Other key roles are played by Collin Pickett as “Davey,” Josh Sifert as “Crutchie,” Joseph Lamoureux as “Joseph Pulitzer,” Hannah Goldberg as “Les,” Patrick Kerley as “Race” and Bella Pirnie and Jenna Vandervort alternating the role of “Medda Larkin.” 

Reserved tickets that were pre-ordered before February 25 can be picked up at the “will call” table after payment is received.** Tickets will also be available for purchase at the door one hour before each scheduled performance.
