Vestal High School students in Mr. Donlin's Participation in Government classes took a field trip to The Discovery Center on January 4 to volunteer their time. Approximately 21 students spent two hours helping take down holiday decorations that adorned the children's exploration center.
"Our goal is to bring each Participation in Government class to a "Day of Service" where we can highlight the Seal of Civic Readiness in action," said Gianni Cordisco, assistant principal at Vestal HS, who photographed the students' efforts.
Last school year, Vestal High School was one of only 111 school district across the state to pilot New York State's new Seal of Civic Readiness initiative. Vestal students are always helping the community and so it's no surprise that at commencement last June 63 members of the Class of 2022 earned the NYS Seal of Civic Readiness!
