Students in Mrs. Dilmore's first-grade class celebrated Read Across America Day with wacky hats, some favorite books, and a taste-testing of green eggs and ham!
Some students ate the green eggs and ham, some did not try it, and some ate just the green eggs. They created a graph afterwards as the first-graders affixed stickers to a chart to track if they liked green eggs and ham, if they didn't like at all, and if they didn't try it. Then the class used the data to complete some basic math calculations... How many more students liked green eggs and ham than those that didn't?
Next, the class practiced descriptive writing as they wrote a paragraph about the experience.
