Dear Families of Vestal Central School District,
We want to share our plan for meals at all school locations. Our goal for Vestal Central School District students is to ensure that all students have access to breakfast and lunch in a safe environment. In order to achieve our goal, we have made the following plans in conjunction with our district administration and local health authorities effective the first day of school.
Menus:
The menus for all meals will be available on the Vestal Central School District website, Rock on Café website, and also on the My School Menus app. There will be no printed menus for the 2020-2021 school year… *Menus are subject to change.
Free and Reduced Applications:
Serving of Meals:
Upon arrival at school, any student wishing to eat a breakfast will go to the serving line, grab a breakfast, and then continue to their designated area.
For lunch, elementary and middle school students will go through the serving line with their class and sit in their designated area. Students attending school at the high school will go through the serving line and eat in their designated area.
Cost of Meals:
Until the end of the 2020-21 school year, breakfast and lunch will be free for all students both in school and while learning at home. We hope you will take advantage of these meals for your child. When you get a free meal for your child, you are not only getting a delicious, nutritious meal, you are also helping our school lunch program stay solvent and helping the local economy.
Payment for Ala-Carte’: You can prepay for any ala-carte’ items that we sell by visiting myschoolbucks.com. You can also pay by check, or cash. We strongly encourage you to prepay using myschoolbucks.com or by check.
**Cash will be accepted at the registers. Staff will not be able to give any cash back to student’s or staff. Any left-over money will be added to the student’s account and will be available the next time a student makes a purchase.
Meals at home for Hybrid Model & 100% Virtual Model: All meals for home consumption must be preordered. To preorder meals please go to www.vestal.stier.org. Scroll down to bottom where it says “Find it Fast” and click on Food Services. From there you will click on “Menus” then click on “At Home Meals” and fill out the form. Students who are 100-percent remote will have their meals delivered every Wednesday, or if you prefer, you can pick them up every Wednesday at the high school between 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Hybrid students will have their meals delivered every Friday or if you prefer you can pick them up every Friday at Vestal High School between 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.

Thank you for supporting our School Nutrition Program. We are dedicated to serving your students the safest, tastiest and most nutritious meals possible. This school year is a new situation for all of us. Changes to our meal service may happen with little warning, but we will do our best to keep families informed about changes in a timely manner.
