Kayla Pickett will cheer for Gannon Knights

Vestal High School cheerleader Kayla Pickett, daughter of Robert and Tanya Pickett of Vestal, will exchange her green and gold pom-poms for maroon and gold when she joins the Gannon University Knights in the Fall of 2021. She is signed her letter of intent with the Division II PSAC University on Thursday, May 27, in Dick Hoover Stadium.
 
A four-year varsity cheerleading team member, Kayla was named a Universal Cheerleaders Association All-American Cheerleader in August 2020 and received the NYSPHSAA Scholar Athlete award for 2019, 2020 and 2021. 
 
An Honor Roll student, Kayla has served as the Public Relations Officer for her school’s select choir, Vestal Voices. She also sings in the a cappella group Bear Necessities and has been a dancer for over 13 years.
 
Kayla plans to major in Nursing at Gannon University.
