Makayla Kintner and Sydney Washburn team up to sign their Letters of Intent
Two Vestal Golden Bear athletes, Makayla Kintner and Sydney Washburn, held a joint National Letter of Intent signing ceremony on Thursday, December 13, in the lobby of the Vestal High School.

Makayla is the daughter of Terry and Andria Kintner of Vestal, and she signed her letter of intent to play lacrosse with Division II Seton Hill University. A team captain this year and last, Makayla was a Section IV All-Star for three years and All-Division for two years. In 2017, she was part of the 2017 U.S. Lacrosse Upstate New York’s National team. A Scholar Athlete, Makayla is a member of the National Honor Society, the VHS YES Leads team, and has served as a student mentor. She has also played varsity field hockey alongside friend Sydney Washburn for all four years of her school career. When she joins the Seton Hill Griffins in the fall, Makayla plans to study Exercise Science.

The daughter of Doug and Pam Washburn of Vestal, Sydney will stay Golden, signing her letter of intent to play field hockey with the Division I Kent State Golden Flashes. A four-year varsity member of the Golden Bears Field Hockey squad, she has been crowned a Section IV, Division I First-Team All-Star and also earned All-Star Award, Second Team honors. During her career at Vestal, Sydney has helped her team score multiple Section IV, Regional and Semifinal Championships. She is also a four-year Honor Roll student and Scholar Athlete.
