Hundreds of area tenth-graders will get a chance to explore some career options Wednesday, March 20, when dozens of business professionals gather
at Binghamton University to discuss what they do for a living.
Career
Expo 2019, which runs from 9:30 a.m. to 1:40 p.m., will enable approximately
1,600 students from 16 Broome and Tioga county school districts to learn
firsthand about a variety of potential career fields, ranging from culinary
arts to computer networking, architecture to engineering. Each student will
select two career presentations from about 40 options.
The
event is sponsored by Broome-Tioga BOCES, the Broome-Tioga Counselors
Association, and Binghamton University. It was first conducted in 1993 in a
cooperative effort by business and education to introduce students to the world
of work.
