Vestal Golden Bear Gabrielle Rosas, daughter of Scott and Amy Rosas of Vestal, will join the Frostburg State University Bobcats in the Fall of 2020. She is signed her letter of intent to play field hockey with the Division II Mountain East Conference University. The signing took place on Friday, January 10, in the lobby of the Vestal High School.
Gabby is a five-year varsity participant, spending her eighth- and ninth-grade seasons at Cortland High School before transferring to Vestal to complete her high school career. Gabby was appointed one of the team captains her senior season and played a dominant force in the mid and backfield. Her contributions resulted in the Bears winning two Section IV Class B titles, two Regional champion-ships, and two NYS final four tournament appearances. Gabby was named a League All-Star both her sophomore and senior seasons. Her out-of-season training includes traveling with the local Southern Tier Storm and the elite Pennsylvania Electric Surge programs.
Academically, Gabby is a two-time Scholar Athlete and Honor Roll student with excellence in Global I and Geography. A member of Varsity Club and the Yearbook committee, she is also completed an internship involving videography with the athletic department.
Once enrolled at Frostburg, Gabby plans to concentrate in the field of English with a double minor in creative writing and journalism.
