The African Road Elementary School community is coming together for its popular “Taste of ARE,” beginning at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, January 16, 2019. ARE families representing 17 different countries (and counting) will be participating in this event that celebrates the diverse cultures and traditions of countries like Bangladesh, Greece, Portugal and Japan through the sharing of cuisines from around the world.
This event, open to all African Road students and their families, is in its third year and will take place in the Vestal Middle School’s cafeteria. Students and their families will represent a country of their choice and bring a traditional dish to share. They may also be dressed in traditional garb and display cultural artifacts or posters with facts about the country for which they are acting as "ambassadors!"
