J.T Stirpe, the son of Joseph and Courtney Stirpe, signed his national letter of intent with Syracuse University on Monday, June 17, in the lobby of the Vestal High School. He accepted a scholarship to play lacrosse with the Division I ‘Cuse!
J.T., a midfielder, helped drive the Golden Bears’ lacrosse team to double NYS Class B Regional Championships, three Section IV Class B championships and a 2019 Class B Semi-Final.
A four-year varsity member, he
was selected as an All-Star for the First Team as a freshman. In tenth grade, J.T. was selected for the First Team as an All-State attackman for Section IV, Division 2. In his junior year, he was selected for the First Team once again, and this season he was crowned a Section IV All-American! This year J.T. also served as a team co-captain.
“J.T. has been a great performer for the Vestal Golden Bear lacrosse team throughout his career,” said Coach Dutkowsky. “This season he was named a Sect. IV All-American, which is the highest lacrosse honor you can receive in the section.”
Out of school, he has shared
his enthusiasm for his sport as a coach for youth lacrosse, teaching children
the importance of sportsmanship, discipline and being a team player. J.T. will
