Chinese New Year Celebration: Celebrating the Year of the Dog

The annual Chinese New Year celebration hosted by Vestal and Union-Endicott High Schools’ Chinese Programs is scheduled for Thursday, February 15, 2018, at the Vestal High School. Once again this year, guests will include representatives of the Catholic Schools of Broome County. The celebration to usher in the Year of the Dog will begin at 5 p.m. in the school's cafeteria with Vestal High School's own Vestal Voices singing a Chinese folk song as a special gift for our attendees.

Students, parents and staff from all three districts are invited to the joint program which features performances by members of the Confucius Institute of Chinese Opera at Binghamton University. In addition, Vestal and Union-Endicott Chinese Language students will share their learning experiences and celebrate the Year of the Dog with Chinese songs, dance, cultural activities and a traditional Chinese dinner.

Cost is $8 for students and their siblings, and $12 for adults. Reservations are respectfully requested by February 9, 2018, and a form is attached below. 2018’s Chinese New Year celebration is co-sponsored by the Vestal Chinese Program Parent Organization and the Confucius Institute of Chinese Opera at Binghamton University.
