Lacrosse Teammates sign National Letters of Intent
A joint signing took place for Vestal High School seniors and lacrosse teammates Jared Butler and Matthew Thrasher  on November 28, 2018, in the lobby of the Vestal High School.

Jared, the son of Matt and Marisa Butler of Vestal, helped propel the Golden Bears’ lacrosse team to a regional title, two Section IV championships and an appearance in the New York State Class B semifinals. A two-sport Scholar Athlete and Honor Roll student, he also played varsity football. Jared was selected to play on the 2019 NYS Central Team in the New York State Regional Championships and will be an attackman for the 2019 Gaffer Elite lacrosse team. He signed his National Letter of Intent to play lacrosse at Division II Mercyhurst University with the Lakers, where he will major in Intelligence Studies.

Matthew is the son of Rich and Gina Thrasher of Vestal, and he is a three-year varsity player who also played two years of varsity football and one year of varsity basketball with the Golden Bears. Selected for the First Team All-Section for two years, Matt was also All-State his junior year. He signed his National Letter of Intent to play lacrosse with the Division I Sacred Heart Pioneers, where he plans to study Sports Management.
