Updates to NYS Department of Health Interim Guidance...
As of April 9, the New York State Department of Health (NYS DOH) updated its interim guidance for in-person instruction at Pre-K to Grade 12 schools during the COVID-19 public health emergency to correspond with earlier Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidance.
Due to evidence that transmission risk ranges by student age, the CDC recommends that physical distancing requirements differ by grade level and community transmission risk. CDC has developed four levels of indicators and thresholds for community transmission of COVID-19.
Shared from the Broome County Health Department...Pfzier is currently the only vaccine approved for children ages 16 - 17. The District was notified that the Broome County Health Department has a number of appointments now available on its website. Please follow this link for more information.

District Procedure for 2020-21 Inclement Weather Days
For the 2020-21 school year, Vestal CSD will handle inclement weather (snow) days as they have been handled in prior years. Unless otherwise indicated, an inclement weather incident that would impact in-person student instruction and results in a school closure by the Superintendent will continue to be considered a non-attendance day, and there would be no student instruction.
In the event that the District has used all available school closing days, this procedure may be reconsidered.
USDS extends Free Breakfast & Lunch meals to all students until the end of the school year
If you have any questions, please contact Erin Polovchak, Vestal Food Service Supervisor, at 757-2201.
