The Vestal Board of Education has undertaken the search for a new Superintendent of Vestal Schools. The successful candidate will possess the following traits, as rated key by members of the Vestal School community that participated in a ThoughtExchange from April 5 - 21, 2023.
The next Superintendent of Vestal Schools will be an engaging presence in our school community.
They will be open and approachable, cultivating a safe environment and encouraging feedback.
This person will be an exceptional communicator, forming strong relationships with the District's staff, students, and families.
The ideal candidate will be an inspiring leader, as well as student-centered, honest, and showing astute judgement.
A visionary leader, the next Vestal Superintendent will prompt innovation, curiosity, and academic excellence while forging a bold course for our District's future.
They will be an educational expert with a deep understanding of curriculum, special education, and how to advance the District academically, socially, and emotionally.
This person will be a financial strategist, skillfully assessing and evaluating the organization while making informed instructional and fiscal recommendations.
- Finally, the next Superintendent of Vestal Schools will be a champion of diversity, celebrating our vibrant and inclusive school community that values diversity and cultural competence and fostering a sense of belonging for all members of our Golden Bear family.
Broome-Tioga BOCES District Superintendent Rebecca Stone is assisting the Vestal School Board in the selection process. She will support the Board in screening applicants and recommending a group of final candidates.
