All students in the Vestal Central School District and all students who ride Vestal buses to non-public schools will be dismissed 15 minutes early on Friday, October 6, 2023, to test emergency evacuation procedures. As a result, children who normally ride the bus will arrive at their destination 15 minutes sooner than usual.
Parents of children who walk, are picked up from school or attend after-school care programs should make appropriate arrangements for the early arrival of their child. This early dismissal drill will not affect the late bus runs from Vestal Middle School and Vestal High School.
The Vestal Central School District conducts an annual test of its emergency management plan for sheltering and early dismissal to comply with regulations of the New York State Education Department. The purpose of the annual test is to ensure that appropriate and safe responses to any emergency situation can be implemented.
