“The Master Teacher’s Program enables mid-career teachers to keep growing through intensive and content-specific professional learning experiences,” said Patrick Clarke, Assistant Superintendent for Instruction. “Their students will benefit greatly from this work.”

The New York State Master Teacher program was launched in 2013 in partnership with SUNY to strengthen K – 12 STEM education. The program is designed to foster growth among three domains – Knowledge of STEM Content, Knowledge of Pedagogy, or the method and practice of teaching, and Knowledge of Students, Their Families and Their Communities. Vestal Central School District’s Master Teachers are part of the Southern Tier regional cohort and its partner SUNY campus is Binghamton University.
