Two Vestal HS Seniors participate in BOCES New Visions VenturePrize project

Students in Broome-Tioga BOCES New Visions Business Academy gave a presentation on January 11, 2023, highlighting their Junior Achievement company, VenturePrize. The presentation took place at the Koffman Southern Tier Incubator.

Vestal HS Seniors Ameet Ashok and David Ojo joined 12 students from the program (from different school districts) who started a company that sold two products, both with the community as a focus. One was a puzzle comprised of photos from around Broome County, and the other was a package of notecards featuring photos from downtown Binghamton.

Altogether, the students generated a net income of over $5,900 in less than three months. At the presentation, they announced donations totaling $4,500 to local charities including Binghamton Rescue Mission, A Room to Heal, CHOW, and Showers of Hope!

The New Visions Business Academy focuses on the areas of finance, business management, marketing, and human resources. Participating students gain valuable first-hand experience working with local businesses and industry partners.
