Vestal CSD and Golden Bear Athletics welcomed members of the 1973 Vestal HS NYS Football Championship team to Dick Hoover Stadium for the 50th anniversary of their championship on September 22, 2023.

The '73 Golden Bear Championship team met with current members of the Golden Bear football team before their match-up with U-E. There was a commemorative coin toss before kickoff and the dedication of a memorial to the team. At halftime, members of the '73 team came out to present a legacy donation of $20,000 to Deputy Superintendent Clifford Kasson and Golden Bear Athletics Director Josh Gannon on behalf of the Vestal Athletics program.
