Shoe-Tying Lesson for Kindergarten Students

It's a life lesson for Kindergartners, and an opportunity for Tioga Hills fifth-graders to try their hand at being role models... Tioga Hills annual shoe-tying lesson, a tradition for the last 17 or so years, came back into being after a two-year interruption.

On June 16, fifth-grade students went out onto the blacktop at Tioga Hills Elementary to show Kindergarten students how to tie their shoes. With velcro and other non-shoelace fasteners sometimes a factor, some of the dedicated fifth-graders even took off their own shoes so that their little prodigies could practice on them.

After the lesson, there was an opportunity to bond further with games of tag and other fun.
