Varsity soccer teams from Vestal, Maine-Endwell and Union-Endicott will be seeing red at their upcoming sectional final games as they team up to beat cancer.
Maine-Endwell, the host site for the competitions, will host a Red Card Cancer fundraiser on Saturday, Nov. 2. Red Card Cancer is a call to action to help defeat the world’s biggest opponent by uniting the global game of soccer in the fight against cancer.
Before and during the games, there will be a table where Red Card Cancer cards will be sold. Donations of $1 (or more) will be accepted. In return, fans may dedicate these cards in honor or memory of a loved one. During halftime of each game, there will be a survivor and caregiver recognition for fans to stand and raise their Red Card against cancer. All donations will go to the American Cancer Society.
